If you can remember liking a book that you read before you really started to mature, I highly recommend that you give it another read. You may enjoy it even more, or you may, in fact, hate it. But the book you once liked can serve as a measuring stick for how much you’ve grown and changed. It can also show you how much you’ve remained the same.

Creative writing is often considered an elitist pursuit, mostly because the people who practice creative writing try to keep it that way. Hiding behind the excuse that “no one cares about creative writing except the people who practice it”, the creative writing clique keeps to itself.
